Medal of Honor

Even though the year's coming to an end, the best is yet to come.

With the holiday season around the corner, we have a plethora of games to look forward too so let's see what's in store for FPS (first person shooter) buffs.

Medal of Honor (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)

After seeing the phenomenal success the Call of Duty franchise enjoyed once it moved out from the World War II era, developer Electronic Arts have decided to reboot the Medal of Honor franchise similarly.

Medal of Honor will now allow players to walk a mile in the boots of the Tier One Operators as they battle hostile armed forces deep behind enemy lines in war torn Afghanistan.

The single player campaign is being worked on by EA LA, while the multiplayer component is being developed by DICE, best known for the Battlefield series.

Fallout New Vegas

Part RPG (Role Playing Game) and part shooter, Fallout 3 re-introduced the Fallout franchise to a new breed of gamers by sacrificing the conventional isometric approach for a more interactive first-person shooter one.

While Bethesda work on a proper sequel, developers Obsidian have been burning the midnight oil working on a standalone expansion set in the Fallout universe, and they guarantee a well-rounded, lengthy and authentic Fallout experience.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

When Black Ops was announced, it garnered a ton of hate because Infinity Ward -- the guys who gave birth to the Call of Duty franchise -- wasn't developing it.

Even then, developer Treyarch has worked hard to ease all doubts by showcasing some pretty impressive multiplayer gameplay that boasts of some never seen before game modes.

Add to that an intense looking single-player campaign and you may just have a Call of Duty game to rival Modern Warfare.

Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam

Even though the Battlefield series has been around forever, the Bad Company games have only just begun.

What started out as a console-exclusive, soon became a wildly popular franchise across the PC with its second iteration -- Battlefield Bad Company 2.

Though the single-player campaign was nothing to write home about, developer DICE delivered an engaging multiplayer experience that to date is one of the most played games across all three platforms.

And now more multiplayer action is coming your way with Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam, a multiplayer-only expansion that brings with it new maps, new unlocks, new weapons and lots more.

The Shoot

Sony has entered the motion-controlled gaming market with Move, so naturally, there are a ton of Move-compatible games on the way.

Out of all the casual stuff, perhaps the most interesting one is a shooter called The Shoot, in which you, armed with the move controller have to destroy pretty much everything on screen.

It's an on-rails shooter that's a total blast (pun intended) thanks to the cell processing power of the PS3 that allows players to destroy pretty much any object on-screen.
