In the fourth and final part of the series on social media communication, we bring you expert tips on how to use your Instagram account.
Part I: How to use LinkedIn to get a job!
Part II: 5 things you're doing wrong on Facebook
Part III: How to get more followers online
Before we get to what you must do with your Instagram account, here's what you must absolutely avoid.
1. Using Instagram solely for advertisements
Instagram lets you engage followers and make them like and share the image with other users to expand the number of fans and followers and in the process become more popular and interactive.
Avoid making it a habit.
2. #Overuse #of #hashtags
Some people consider using a lot of hashtags overwhelming, but when you overdo it it just looks plain wrong and irritating.
Imagine someone screaming "#followforfollow" -- incidentally, that's the most used hashtag on Instagram.
3. Posting too often
Too many posts from your official account in a day puts a question mark on your professionalism and your credibility.
4. Posting cute-animal pics
Basically, posting irrelevant photographs for the heck of it.
Some of us put up pictures of animals and babies which have absolutely nothing to do with who we are.
They use these posts as fillers and do it just for the sake of likes.
It speaks of your desperation for attention.
5. Reposting old pictures
Make sure you have a content bank created in advance so that you never run out of good content to post.
Followers almost always remember when you post something twice (or even a picture of the same subject from a different angle), and they might just start finding your profile boring if it happens too often.

Instead, here's what you must do:
1. Use high resolution images
High-resolution photos are more likely to catch someone’s eye.
To that end, we recommend posting only high-resolution photos on Instagram.
Use a better camera, and see the results for yourself.
2. #Hashtagging
Hashtagging is the latest fad in the internet world today invented by twitter.
While you need to be careful how to use them, do not ignore them completely, because they help people find your images faster.
The absence of '#' makes your account and pictures invisible and hidden for potential followers.
3. Take advantage of geotagging
Geotagging is the process of attaching geographical information to media.
It is of particular use while clicking photographs of restaurants, stores and geography based services.
4. Hold a contest
A contest is a great way to encourage people to use your hashtag.
Offer a free product or service to a random person, or reward a particularly good shot.
5. Share your pictures on Facebook and Twitter
Be subtle while you do this.
Sharing is easy with Instagram's -- 'Sharing Pics' function on Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare.
Almost everyone connects their Instagram account to their Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare accounts which means your fans/friends come to know that you have posted a new picture on your Instagram timeline.
