shreehari asked, hi I want to know abt persuing Ph.D in abroad. How we can get to know about research positions.? wwhat about financing options? wha is the required qualification ?
Dipti Punjabi answers, PhD is known to be a fully funded program and hence the most competitive for admission. Depending on whichever country you choose, the GRE is highly recommended along with the English proficiency test (TOEFL/IELTS). Work experience in your field of interest is an add on to your profile. Please start your PhD application at least 18 months in advance. You must write to professors at universities that match your research interests and get an approval from them to make your PhD application successful.
Nature asked, I am an industrialist and am looking for short term courses in machine manufacturing, Designing of woodworking machines, Designing and / or manufacturing of cutting tools.
Dipti Punjabi answers, You will find courses in your area of interest in various universities. However, I suggest that you look at the degree programs as they would hold more value and credit. You can have a look at the programs offered by University of Calgary and University of Windsor in Canada.
rahulsonthalia asked, how to kickstart for IELTS ?
Dipti Punjabi answers, You can refer to the Cambridge IELTS to understand the 4 sections. Put in 2 weeks of steady practice. Since this ia a paper pencil test, ensure you practice writing and time your essay well.
johhny asked, hi Dipti, what are the job prospects after MBA in UK?
Dipti Punjabi answers, UK has discontinued the post study work permit since 2011, hence forcing most students to complete their program and return to India or apply for jobs in other European/Asian countries. However, if you graduate from a top ranked UK university, the chances for you to be absorbed by a firm in the UK are bright.
kamlesh asked, i am kamlesh. aged 42 years.. i need a keen to have a MBA degree from abroad. i can spend only a year or so...is there institutions abroad. where cheap education exists.
Dipti Punjabi answers, You can consider UK/European universities if you are keen on a 1 year program. Even so you should be prepared for a min budget of 15 lacs. Students can cover up their living expenses by working on campus and hence save about 4-5 lakhs from the total amt.

VINCY asked, I am studying in class XI Commerce stream and I am planning to study abroad after my class XII. Can you please advice which country and university is good for accounts (CA) and what are expenses for full course?
Dipti Punjabi answers, UK is a good option for your course of study. You can pursue BSC in Accounting. You should be prepared for about 15 lacs per year. It will be a 3 year degree.
prasad asked, Sir, I am 37 years old and just 10th (SSC) passed though I have 16 years of hands on experience of Computer software and hardware troubleshooting. Today I have no one to guide me after my fathers pass away in 1989. Please suggest me a "VERY SOUND ADVICE" about where I can take some professional course in the same field of IT maintenance at affordable cost.
Dipti Punjabi answers, Prasad, I strongly suggest that you look for diploma or + 2 options in India. You can find the same in your requirement. This is a study abroad chat and I must say that it would be difficult for you to apply at intl universities with your background.
SK asked, Hi, I have done my mba from IIT Delhi and have a 3 year work ex with IBM. My percentages are (80 in MBA, 77 in B.E. 57 in XII, 78 in X) Can I look at Ivy league institutes for mba or will that be out of scope due to my low percentages?
Dipti Punjabi answers, You have done very well in your BE and MBA and these will coun if you apply for an international degree. However, ivy league admissions are not decided on the basis of academic %, instead your contribution at work (quality and quantity), extracurricular achievement and essays are considered as a whole.

kamlesh asked, what is cost of MBA for people with experience more than 15 years in UK.does we get achance of employement after studies....and settlement.
Dipti Punjabi answers, Employment depends on the kind of university you graduate from and if you have the earning capability of 20000 pounds on completion of your degree. I would say UK is not the country for PR. You can rather look at Canada or Australia in that case.
