Applications are invited from students for the Stanford-India Biodesign Fellowship in Biomedical Technology Innovation 2013
The Fellowship in Medical Device Technology for 2013 is jointly sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Sciences & Technology; Government of India and Stanford University, USA in partnership with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum.
Fellowship pays stipend, tuition, travel and health benefits. Fellows are mentored by experts in the USA and India.
The fellowship lasts for one year starting January 2013 (Full time)
Who can apply
Candidates with graduate or post-graduate degree (engineers, doctors, business professionals, others) having passion for invention and early-stage development of new medical technologies addressing the clinical needs in India are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be Indian citizens, and must be able to devote full one year at the Stanford University, USA and the SIB center, AIIMS, New Delhi.
Preference will be given to applicants with significant work experience. Shortlisted candidates will be called for final interview at New Delhi.

Apply for the S K Patil Loan Scholarships
What
The trustees of Shri Brihad Bharatiya Samaj invite application from students of Indian nationality for the S K Patil Loan Scholarships for the year 2012 for higher studies abroad in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Medicine and other professional courses.
These Loan Scholarships are offered irrespective of the caste, community, religion and gender of the applicants.
Who can apply
The applicants should satisfy the following conditions:
a) S/he must possess a First Class Degree of a recognised Indian University and have consistently First Class academic record right from the SSC examination.
b) S/he must have secured admission, or should have at least applied for admission, in reputed foreign universities for courses commencing from September 2012 but not later than February 2013.
c) His/Her age at the time of application should not be above 27 years.
Candidates studying in the Final Year of the degree course are also eligible to apply provided they produce their mark-sheet/certificate of earlier examinations before the end of June 2012.
How to apply
Interested students should apply on the plain paper to the Hon Secretary, Shri Brihad Bharatiya Samaj, 178, N K Mehta International House, Behind LIC Yogeshema, Babubhai Chinai Marg, Backbay Reclamation, Churchgate, Mumbai 400 020, giving all details including the percentage of marks and class obtained in all examinations commencing from SSC along with a 25 cm x 18 cm self-addressed envelope with Rs 10/- postage stamps affixed.
Important dates
The details of interested students should reach the office of Shri Brihad Bharatiya Samaj latest by May 14, 2012.
The prescribed application forms will be sent to those students who possess the requisite qualifications.
The prescribed application form, duly completed, should be returned to the Samaj Office before May 31, 2012.
