Apply for PhD in Physical Sciences at the CSIR, Delhi

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-NPL is inviting applications from MSc/ MTech students to pursue PhD in Physical Sciences at the institute. Read on for details

The CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi, a premier research laboratory in India in the field of Physical & related Sciences is inviting applications from MSc/ MTech students for a PhD (Science) programme in Physical Sciences.

Known for providing an excellent ambience that fosters creativity and innovative thinking along with state-of-the-art research facilities in frontline research areas of Physical Sciences, CSIR-NPL has currently about 100 students registered under Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), IITs, NITs, DTU and other prestigious universities.

This is an unique opportunity for getting registered for PhD (in August 2012 session) and working under the supervision from a pool of about 200 experienced scientists working in cutting-edge research areas of Physical Science and Technology.

The PhD students are also encouraged to present their research papers in national and international conferences.

The laboratory also provides furnished hostel accommodation (separately for boys and girls) in a secured campus, which is Wi-Fi enabled.

Who can apply

Applicants must have a Master's degree with 60 per cent marks or equivalent in Physical/Chemical/Engineering Sciences with a valid National Level Fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowship.

You can apply on-line through the centralised admission website (www.acsir.res.in) by selecting CSIR-NPL as your preferred laboratory.

The last date for submission of online applications is May 18, 2012.
