After opening its first dealership in Pune, iconic British motorcycle brand Triumph targets five more dealerships in cities like Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai across India by end of 2014.
Iconic British motorcycle brand Triumph is eyeing a bigger market share of Indian luxury bike segment. The company is targeting sales of 1,000 units and 1,500 units, respectively in the first and second year of operations.
Triumph has raised its sales target in India by 20 per cent.
The brand entered in India in November 2013 and has sold 350 plus units in India. The company today launched the motorcycle brand in Maharashtra, and opened its first dealership in the state and the fourth in the country in Pune.

Vimal Sumbly, managing director, Triumph Motorcycles India said, "We are enthused with the unbelievable initial response from Triumph aficionados. We have already sold over 350 bikes since the our launch in November 2013. Now, we are looking for a bigger pie of this segment. We are now targeting sales of 1,000 units and 1,500 units, respectively in the first and second year of operations. We are also convinced that the booking trend will continue to improve as we move closer to the start of sales with six functional dealerships across key cities within the next one month."

Triumph sells 11 models in the country in categories such as classics, adventure, cruisers and super sports, priced between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 22 lakh.
It assemble completely knocked-down (CKD) kits at a factory in the Gurgaon-Manesar area in Haryana. Triumph which has showcased 250 cc global bike at Milan Auto Show could also be launched in India in future.

Triumph competes with other luxury brands like Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Ducati and Hyosung. Its closest rival rival Harley-Davidson sold about 400 bikes in 2009-10 when it started selling in India. In the year ended March 31, it sold 1,884 bikes.
Its first three dealerships were launched at Bangalore and Hyderabad in January and Kochi in April.
