The bikes are brought to India via the CBU route and Kawasaki is opening a new showroom in Pune to sell these bikes. Slowly more such showrooms will be opened which will only sell high-end Kawasaki motorcycles.

Kawasaki is targeting a 20 per cent market share in the superbike segment with the new high displacement Ninja bikes. The company plans to reach the target market share by 2015.
Currently the 1000-1600cc segment sees around 400 units being sold every year. The Japanese firm will source components from India as they are available for lesser prices.
Currently Kawasaki uses around 30 per cent local content in the Ninja 300 and Ninja 650 and the parts are exported to other Kawasaki factories for cost benefits.
