The London Olympic opening ceremony has something more for the viewer's other than pure sports.
The Bavarian Automaker BMW's motorcycle division, BMW Motorrad, revealed its first zero emission E-Scooter at the London Olympics.
The BMW famous for its luxurious cars and superbikes is entering electric bike segment with this 'I' series pure electric model.
The scooter was earlier showcased at the BMW Motarrad Innovation Day 2011. But then a new prototype was developed that was showcased at London. Named as C Evolution, it will be available for only selected Olympic visitors.
BMW C Evolution houses an electric motor which works with the hybrid composite structure. It can produce a continuous output of about 15 BHP can be forced to get high power of about 47 BHP.
The Evolution can accelerate you up to a top speed of about 120 kmph. Powered by a drive train swing arm, the scooter is fitted with KWh battery which once charged can give a range of almost 100 km.
This bike can be charged at the charging stations or at home via a regular charging socket. It can attain complete charge in just 3 hours.
The smart recuperation system is one of the smartest features of this scooter. This system allows the battery to regain energy during coasting or breaking.
The iconic brand again brings a product that could supplement tons of user expectations. The production version of C Evolution will soon hit the market and will be available on road from 2014.
