BMW Motorrad is a name which rings in the ears of most motorcycle enthusiasts. But little do we know that the company has been in existence since 1923. Last year they sold more than 1 lakh motorcycles across the globe but not even 10 units were sold in India.

BMW R1200GS
This bike is available in two models -- the BMW R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure. Manufactured at BMW Motorrad's facility in Berlin, the R1200GS is from the BMW GS familty of dual sport motorcycles.
Powered by a 1170cc, 2-cylinder, 8-valve boxer engine produce 110hp at 7750rpm and 120Nm at 6000rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Adventure variant features a large fuel tank and longer suspension travel. The electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) and the Automatic Stability Control (ASC) ensures optimal grip both on the track and off-road. The BMW R1200GS can be yours for Rs 16 lakh in India.

BMW K1300R
It is the flagship urban motorcycle from BMW. The K1300R looks smashing with the naked styling. It is powered by a 1293cc, in-line four cylinder engine and produes 173hp at 9250rpm and 140Nm at 8250rpm.
The K1300R features BMW's optional ESA-II electronic suspension adjustment which helps riders to choose their comfort levels on the go.

The K1300R is one of the few BMW bikes to have a conventional indicator switch instead of the usual BMW three button configuration. The motorcycle is not available in the United States but can be yours in India for Rs 16 lakh.

BMW S1000RR
They say you keep the best for the last and we have done so here.
The S1000RR started off life as a super sports bike made solely to compete in the 2009 Superbike World Championship. But the response was so tremendous that BMW decided to go for mass production. The 999cc engine produces 193hp at an insanely high 13000rpm and 112nm at 9750rpm.

What this results in is a superfast bike, which has taken the accolades last year from all the other established players. All motorcycle awards saw the S1000RR being declared the fastest motorcycle in the world, beating the Kawasaki Ninja ZZ1400R and the Suzuki Hayabusa.

The S1000RR doesn't lack equipment.
It features an anti-lock braking system as standard along with an optional electronic traction control. Weighing in at 207 kgs, the S1000RR will do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 6.9 seconds, 0 to 300 km/h in 19.9 seconds.

Top speed of 305 km/h ensures the S1000RR remains the fastest motorcycle in the world for the time to come. While strong brakes (Dual 320 mm discs, 4-piston fixed callipers at the front and single 220 mm disc, single-piston floating calipe at the rear) ensure the S1000RR stops from 250 km/h to 0 km/h in just 229 meters.
