Injustice 2: Your very own Batman vs Superman

August 25, 2017 12:07 IST

With a fascinating gameplay and a single-player mode, notes Kakoli Chakraborty, Injustice 2 is among the best fighting games.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, Injustice 2 is a fighting game with an RPG-style progression system.

The sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us is available for both the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One.

Though a fighting game, Injustice 2 also has a strong single player storyline.

It revolves around Batman's attempt to set the world right after Superman's fall.

To add to his troubles, a villainous group, which calls itself The Society starts wreaking havoc, and Batman mulls freeing Superman from prison.

The gameplay takes a lot from its predecessor, which includes stage transitions, character traits and environment interaction.

Like the usual fighting games, the characters have different styles and a super meter that can execute and unlock special moves.

Infusing few RPG-style battle mechanics, Injustice 2 comes with a 'gear system'.

This system allows players to pick up loot dropped by their defeated opponents.

This loot helps players customise their characters.

Players can also level up and increase their strength, defence, health and ability statistics.

The base roster of this game has 28 playable superheroes and villains, which is a mix of old characters from its predecessor and some new ones such as Deadshot and Brainiac.

Injustice 2 will attract both types of gamers: The button smashers and the super executors.

So, whether you want to unwind after a long day at work and take the Joker down or become a seasoned pro, this game is for all.

The best part is that every character is unique in its own way and you won't feel like you're playing the same character with different skins and using the same buttons.

You can level up a character's strength and see how it affects the combat.

However, if you like single player games, the AI will keep you engaged but only for a while.

Injustice 2 is best played with friends or online.

If you were disappointed by the flimsy battle between Batman and Superman in its cinematic avatar, you now have the chance to take it to epic proportions with this game.
