Sanjay Dutt is one of the rare examples of an actor who has seen both success and failure, love and loss.

His slow transformation from a convict and drug addict to a responsible actor, father and human being is inspiring.

On World Drug Day, the 59 year old shared a powerful video campaigning against the use of drugs.

'Having been a victim of drug abuse myself, I feel responsible to do my bit in spreading awareness about this menace. It was a moving experience to initiate the #DrugFreeIndia campaign earlier this year with guruji @srisriravishankar. Today on #WorldDrugDay, let us continue our mission,' Dutt wrote against the video.

"When your friends tell you that a single puff can do no harm, don’t listen to them. When they say that everybody takes drugs you should too, don’t listen to them. If they said this drug is better than the rest, don’t listen to them,' he says in the 50 second long video he shared on Instagram and Twitter.

'Taking drugs once does not make you an addict, don’t listen to them. I know the truth, and that’s why I am telling you, don’t listen to them. Today, let’s take a pledge that we will not take drugs and will stop others from doing the same,' Dutt added.
