Bestselling author Amish Tripathi, along with actor Raveena Tandon released the cover of his new book titled Sita - Warrior of Milthila amidst his fans at Title Waves, a book store in Mumbai.

Talking about his book, Amish, an alumnus of IIM-Calcutta, said, "This is Sita ma's story from her birth to her kidnapping where Lord Ram is a character who comes in towards the end of the book.

"This is about Sita, the warrior. Our perception of Sita is based on television shows of 1980s, but if you read prachin (ancient) Ramayana, she was a warrior who killed Ravana."

At the launch, Raveena revealed how she got Hollywood actor Al Pacino to buy the third book from Amish Tripathi's Shiva trilogy, The Oath of the Vayuputras.

"I was travelling in a flight from Los Angeles to London and was reading the book. I turned around casually and you won't believe who was sitting next to me. It was the Al Pacino."

"He then asked me which book I was reading. I told him it was The Oath of the Vayuputras and it talks about ancient India and our history. Yes! There's a bit of fiction but it is mostly based on facts and what we have learned over the years."

"When we got off the flight in London, I made him buy the book. Now Al Pacino has the book. I also sent a snapshot of that to Amish," she added.

Here are some pictures from the launch.

Reminiscing his initial days of struggle as an aspiring author, Amish said: "Immortals of Meluha was rejected by every publisher so we decided to self publish the book. My most thrilling moment was when the first print came home and we (Amish and his son) opened the carton together," confessed the author.
Amish already started writing his next book, which will be his interpretation of Ravana.
