Why Sonam Kapoor is the coolest bride ever!

Last updated on: May 08, 2018 12:28 IST

The Veere Di Wedding actor is giving us so much wedding inspo.

After #Virushka, #SonamKiShaadi is the biggest wedding of the year.

Sonam Kapoor wed Anand Ahuja on May 8 in Mumbai.

Although the two tried to keep the celebrations private, pictures from their mehndi, pre- and post-wedding are all over.

The two make for a perfect couple, complementing and inspiring each other.

Of the many things we liked about the two, their paper-less e-invite was definitely inspiring.

Here are some reasons why Sonam Kapoor is one of the coolest bride we've seen recently.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja started seeing each other nearly four years ago. But they kept their relationship details private and started sharing pictures together only recently. The two successful people definitely make a hot pair. Even close friend and designer Kunal Rawal agrees Sonam is #everydayphenomenal.

Gone are the days when brides-to-be stepped out in heavy designer ensemble pre- and post-wedding. Sonam Kapoor stepped out in this bird printed saree paired with a pink blouse designed by friend Masaba Gupta. Looks effortless, doesn't she? Photograph: Kind courtesy House of Masaba/Instagram

She may be the perfect vision of fashionista on the red carpet. But for her own mehndi, Ms Kapoor wore these super comfy Nike slippers with her lehenga.
FYI, Anand Ahuja is a huge lover of footwear and is also the co-founder of Veg Non Veg, a multi-brand sneaker store in India.

When asked at a promotional event of Veere Di Wedding, whether she'll work after marriage, Sonam pointed at her inspiration from co-star Kareena Kapoor.
"People like Kareena are setting an example. She got married, but she was on set and working. You would never ask a man what we normally ask actresses, 'Now that she is getting married, will she work?' Did anyone ask Shahid Kapoor whether he would work after marriage?" Sonam said.
"Kareena changed things after she went to work after her wedding. Post pregnancy, she started working immediately. Nobody asks men these questions; this misogynist mindset must change," she declared.

Post her wedding, Sonam will be busy preparing for the Cannes festival and her film Veere Di Wedding which will release on June 1.
Here's wishing the new bride a very happy married life!
