With the start of the nine-day Navratri festival, girls in Gujarat are eager to flaunt their tattoos and spread a social message about spiralling inflation and corruption.
Going holy with style, the city of Surat witnessed an overwhelming fancy for tattoos among young girls and women. Darshan Gohil, a tattoo designer, said that youngsters had chosen themes of social relevance.
Girls preferred inking washable tattoos on their backs with colours to match their dresses. A customer said that the girls were all set to steal the show through colourful tattoos matching their traditional dresses.
