TOP FIVE: Relationship lessons Bollywood movies taught us!

Whoever said movies were only about entertainment eh? Aditi Bose lists out relationship lessons she's learnt from these five movies.

There are rules and then there are rules. New age Bollywood movies seem to be teaching us a few about the dating game. Here are some for you just in case if you preparing for your date. Do let us know how it went.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: When it's right, you'll just know!

When two people meet, there will be signs. There might not really be bells or songs that you will hear but you will know that he or she is for you.
After all, in this world, there is always that one person who is just right for you.

In Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge when Raj (Shahrukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol) meet for the first time, it is in the most inappropriate place. But they keep meeting.

They encounter obstacles from family, from within themselves too but they somehow know that things will sort themselves out.

When two people go out on a date it means that they are ready to take their relationship forward. But maintaining a relationship needs a lot of hard work, sacrifice, patience, devotion, loyalty and understanding.

In Salaam Namaste, Ambar (Preity Zinta) and Nikhil (Saif Khan) begin their relationship on a 'no strings attached' note and end up living together.

But when Ambar gets pregnant their peace is shattered. They fight, there's bitterness but they both know deep inside that they need each other.
So they make it work.

The crux of a relationship during dating time is to deal with issues in a level headed fashion.

Men often find it tough to express the love that they feel for the lady. I'm not saying give a gift or flowers to her every day like Pooja's (Sonali Kulkarni) fiance gave her balloons in Dil Chahta Hai. But do show her that you care.

Women by nature are more sensitive and like to be cared for. In Hum Tum, Karan (Saif Khan) cared for Rhea (Rani Mukherji), and even unknowingly loved her, but he kept that to himself and even from her.

He was lucky enough to have got a second chance with the lady of his dreams, but in real life we might not always be that lucky. So go ahead and show that she's dear to you.

Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali's (Kajol) friendship has been immortalised in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. 

The more recent Jaane Tu ya Jaane Na saw a similar one between Aditi (Genelia D'Souza) and Jai (Imran Khan).

In both, the men fall for a different girl initially but circumstances lead them back to their best friend.

It is not a 'on the rebound' thing but because they truly believe that all the time it was their best friend who they had really loved.

Don't feel guilty of walking away. If you find that after a few dates things are not working out, then speak up and walk away. I don't mean being rude and literally walking away though! But generally if are unsure of the future of a relationship and need time, space or even feel that the compatibility is low then it is better to end it rather than prolonging it. 

Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor) and Shruti (Ileana D'Cruz) kiss in the silence of the night. They are both in love. And yet, when he sees, a little later in the film, that she has a fiance, he steps back with elan.

He realises that they are not meant to be together and that such things happen in life. He can't talk. And yet though signs he explains the same to her before he walks away.
