'If we're regulating cigarettes and sex and cuss words because of the effect it has on our younger generation, why aren't we regulating things like calling somebody fat?"

Jennifer Lawrence lashes out at preconceived notions of beauty, while Rihanna becomes new face of Balmain and Gisele Bundchen does yoga in bikini with her son.

All this and more from the world of glamour and showbiz:

We start out with actress Jennifer Lawrence who has often been crticised for having a fuller figure by her critics and thinks calling someone fat should be illegal.

The 23-year-old feels "fat-shaming" on TV and elsewhere has an indisputably harmful effect on her young female fans, reported Aceshowbiz.

"Why is humiliating people funny?. I get it, I do it too.

We all do it. I think the media needs to take responsibility for the effect it has on our younger generation on these girls that are watching these television shows and picking up how to talk and how to be cool.

"So all of the sudden being funny is making fun of the girl that's wearing an ugly dress. And the word fat! I just think it should be illegal to call somebody fat on TV.

If we're regulating cigarettes and sex and cuss words because of the effect it has on our younger generation, why aren't we regulating things like calling somebody fat?"

This isn't the first time the young star has spoken out about weight.

In an interview previously, she had said, "In Hollywood, I'm obese. I'm considered a fat actress."

The 25-year-old singer will front the advertising campaign of the Spring/Summer 2014 collection and is expected to feature in magazines from January, reported Glamour magazine.

"In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world. When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete," the label's creative director, Olivier Rousteing said.

In the adverts, which were shot in New York City, Rihanna can be seen wearing two different outfits.

In the first snap, the 'Stay' hitmaker is propped up on a white and black -- squared block while wearing a baby pink dogtooth checked over-coat with turned up sleeves and gold accessories.

In the second photograph, Rihanna is flaunting a denim top and denim high-waited trousers, which is teamed up with chunky gold chains.

Actress Kim Basinger has landed a modelling contract at the age of 60.

The stylish star has inked a deal with IMG Models, the same agency her 18-year-old daughter Ireland Baldwin signed with in March, reported People magazine.

The Grudge Match actress is likely to team up with Ireland for some mother-daughter photoshoots.

This comes after Ireland, whose father is Alec Baldwin, claimed her mother was impossibly young-looking for her age.

"She looks like she's my age. Her body, I swear, it's scary," Ireland said.

Kim, best known for playing a Bond girl in Never Say Never Again, said she has always encouraged blonde bombshell Ireland to pursue her dreams, whatever they may be, and is proud of her success as a model.

"She grew up in the limelight but I tried to provide stability and a quieter world. You just want them to follow their own path, and she totally did this on her own. I think she wanted to stick her foot in the modelling world and see what it would bring. And she's doing extremely well," Kim said.
