Snapshots from fashion events in the days preceding the biggest event of them all -- Lakme Fashion Week
Some rather lukewarm days preceded the Lakme Fashion Week. The recently concluded Pune Style Week (it was a weekend really) saw a handful of interesting designs but didn't really stand out in a way a fashion extravaganza must.
To start with the brightest spark of the week, we have Mugdha Godse who walked the ramp for Aslam Khan.
One of the designs that caught our eye is this Aslam Khan's creation that seems like an interesting mix of the western and Indian sensibilities. Cut it in black and we're already in the Matrix.
The classic two button jacket gets a dash of red in yet another Aslam Khan creation.
Next up we have this rather colourful sari from the designer duo Mona Lamba and Pali Sachdev, the well-known designer sister duo from West Bengal who work under the brand name Monapali.
Up next is a jacket with the colours of the season teamed with a flowy skirt, again by Monapali.
Black and white were the colours of choice for Nitya Singh's latest collection that primarily comprised saris.
Up next is this chiffon number by Nitya Singh that looked like it belonged to a market outside Santacruz railway station than on a fashion ramp.
Meanwhile, in Mumbai Rohit Verma launched his latest line at least partly aimed at the upcoming wedding season, this one featuring a corset and a heavily embroidered dupatta, skirt and presumably comes with 'dry clean only' instructions.
Yet another risque but rather tacky number from Verma's latest collection.
And finally, we have designer Rohit Verma posing for the cameras with yet another of his creations.
