Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine is People magazine's sexiest man alive. Here's what you need to know about him!
It's official now. Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine is the sexiest man alive according to People magazine. One of the mentors in the singing reality show the Voice, Levine has his fingers in many, many pies. He sings, acts, launches clothing lines… and when he isn't doing any of those, even strips down to get nearly naked for a magazine.
So, here's ten things you must know about the sexiest man alive:
1. He's a yogi!
For all you folks who thought yoga was for oldies, think again! Levine practices yoga under instructor Chad Dennis and has confessed that it has helped him relax. He practices a mixture of Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Anusara and Jivamukti yoga and takes an hour out to go through his yoga routine before every concert.
Behati Prinsloo, the Victoria's Secret model is his fiance. At the last Victoria's Secret show (this one) Adam Levine and a bunch of his friends were in the audience cheering for her each time she walked down the runway.
Funnily, only two years ago, Levine was serenading another girl -- the Russian model Anne Vyalitsyna. They were dating for two years before splitting up in 2012. In about a year, Levine landed another Victoria's Secret model and got engaged to her!
Yeah! Jake freakin' Gyllenhaal! The two dudes have known each other since they were toddling around in kindergarten and are quite the opposite of each other. Gyllenhaal is the more understated of the two while Levine has earned himself the reputation of being a womaniser.
They do however seem to be great friends and Levine stood up for his pal when rumours of him being gay started doing the rounds.
Levine confesses to crying during movies. If that isn't all, he also famously told VH1: Every male secretly wants sex with Brad Pitt." Sounds about right; except that it isn't. Evidently he hasn't heard of George Clooney.
Adam Levine has starred in an insanely funny music video for Saturday Night Live, the popular American sketch comedy show.
Levine was happy to let Andy Samberg take centre stage as he serenaded the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a funny spoof video and happily sang the chorus for him.
And oh oh... also starring in the video was that friend of his we told you of. Jake Gyllenhaal!
Now that's a gift we wouldn't mind having. Adam Levine writes with his left but uses his right to play the guitar.
Like many of his contemporaries, Adam Levine has cashed in on his celebrity status intelligently. He owns a record label, is the spokesperson for acne treatment, has launched a fragrance line and even collaborated with Kmart and ShopYourWay.com to develop and design accessories and apparel collections.
In an interview to the music magazine Q, Levine has confessed to have done drugs. "
"I smoked a lot of pot when I was younger," he has been quoted as saying, "I've written songs after smoking a joint and it was good."
However, he didn't endorse it and instead stressed on the fact that it was 'absolute garbage' adding that cocaine 'brought no good into the world'.
Interestingly, earlier this year a security guard mentioned him in a hostile work environment lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court suggesting drug use in Universal Music Publishing Group's Santa Monica location.
Needless to say he rubbished the claims in an official statement.
It wasn't as if Levine wasn't making television appearances. But he's played himself in most of them. Except now.
Levine stars as one of the recurring characters in the American TV mini-series American Horror Story: Asylum and has made his film debut alongside Keira Knightley in Can a Song Save Your Life? that opened at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.
Along with his band, Levine is the recipient of three Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards and a trophy each at the MTV Video Music Awards and World Music Awards.
