Vroom! Eight bikes that cost as much as cars

Yamaha FZ1

Yamaha FZ1 is a 1000cc sports bike and it is rightly called 'Brutal Beauty' because of its looks. The design is quite macho and aggressive. Its edge headlight with twin pilot lamps and tiny side indicators give it a very heavy look.

FZ1's black colour engine cover looks really cool. Its split seats and a masculine fuel tank gives it a sporty look.

Yamaha FZ1 is powered by a four cylinder, liquid-cooled 998cc engine. This engine gives out massive power of 148bhp at 11000rpm. Because of this, you can reach a speed of 100 km/hr in just 3.5 seconds.

There seems no limit to this bike as it can reach a top speed of 273.6 kmph. Its mileage is around 15 km/l in the long run. A bike with this kind of top speed certainly needs an efficient braking system and it is equipped with one.

The FZ1 will cost you around Rs 990,000.

Aprilia RSV4 R

Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle company. The Aprilia RSV4 R model has a sporty appearance. It has a black engine and stickers of its name on both sides, which gives it the perfect look. It has integrated black finished twin silencers which give this bike a heavy look.

The multi spoke alloy wheel, V-Shaped front cowl and three headlights in this bike gives it a majestic look.

Aprilia RSV4 R is equipped with a four cylinder V4 engine. It comes with a four stroke, liquid-cooled, 999cc engine and gives out 184bhp of power at 12250 rpm. It produces a torque of 117Nm @ 10000 rpm. This bike has the ability to reach 100 km/hr in less than 3.5 seconds and can easily go beyond 250 km/hr.

The Aprilia RSV4 R gives a mileage of around 10-12 km/l and costs around Rs 14.5 lakh.

Suzuki GSX-R1000

This is Suzuki's most expensive bike in India. A huge and pointed headlight gives it a very nasty look. The headlight almost covers its front fenders. While its body covers the engine, great graphics on it give it a very cool look. Its split seats give a comfortable ride to both the rider and the pillion.

Powered by a four stroke, four cylinder 999cc engine the Suzuki GSX-R1000 dishes out power output of 160bhp @9500 rpm. This engine is equipped with a six-speed gearbox and the maximum torque output of this DOHC engine is 110Nm@ 8000 rpm.

The Suzuki GSX-R1000 weighs around 203 kg and can touch 100 km/hr in just 3 seconds. This bike can easily do 250 km/hr. It offers mileage of around 15 km/l and its cost ranges between Rs 13,75,000 and Rs 15,50,000.

Ducati Superbike 848 EVO dishes out a sporty look. It consists of very nice featureslike a superb alarm system, step up seat, low fuel indicator, low oil indicator, high oil temperature indicator, etc.

It is equipped with a two cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with six speed gearbox. This bike produces a maximum power of 140bhp @10500 rpm and maximum torque output of 98 Nm @9750 rpm.

This is the most popular bike in India and everybody has dreams of riding it. The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R looks extremely bulky from the front.

The graphics printed on its front fairing adds aggressiveness to this bike. The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R has a partly black coloured fatty silencer with diamond-like coating. The bike is powered by a 4 stroke, 4 cylinder 1340cc engine which generates a power output of 197bhp @9500 rpm.

BMW K1300R

BMW K1300R is sometimes referred as the Hulk on the Streets by its fans.

It has a very muscular design with fewer graphics but good cuts on its body which gives it a look of one of the best sports bikes. Its black engine adds grace to its looks.

Equipped with a 1293cc, 4 stroke engine the bike hauls out power of 173bhp @9250 rpm with a torque of 140Nm @8250 rpm. It also has a six speed gearbox which helps it reach a speed of 100 km/hr in 3.8 seconds and gives it a top speed of over 200 km/hr.

Ducati Monster 796 has a raised up fuel tank with sharp lines on it. It has split seats for a comfortable ride.

This naked sports bike is the cheapest 1000cc bike from Honda in India.

With a triangular multi reflector headlight, front mudguard, the black coloured rear view mirrors and the fuel tank gives it a macho look.

The Honda CBR 1000R is powered with a 999cc liquid-cooled, 4 stroke engine which generates a power output of 1175.5bhp@ 10000 rpm and a torque of 112Nm@ 8000 rpm. Equipped with a six speed manual gearboxthe bike zooms to 100 km/hr under 4 seconds and can go beyond the speed of 290 km/hr easily.

Its mileage ranges from 15 km/l to 20 km/l and is priced around Rs 15,46,479 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi).
