After termination of joint venture between Honda Motors of Japan with Hero group of India, the first creative initiative from Honda Motors was Honda CBR 250 R.

Powered by single cylinder, liquid cooled 249 cc, 4-stroke engine churning maximum power of 25.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 22.56 Nm at 7,000 rpm, Honda CBR 250 R was introduced in two variants one with anti breaking system (ABS) and another without ABS.

Honda CBR 250 R is supported by 6-speed gearbox can reach the maximum speed up to 160 kmph with power capturing speed from 0 to 100 within 6.5 seconds.

Honda CBR 250 R is equipped with all features that will help HMSI to repeat the same success history it did when it was known as Hero Honda.

Kawasaki Ninja 250 R

Another name to dominate the 250 cc bike segment in Indian bike market is Kawasaki Ninja 250 R from domestic legendary two-wheeler manufacturing company Bajaj Auto. Designed specifically to give tough competition to Honda CBR 250 R, Kawasaki Ninja 250 R is embedded with stylish looks and powerful performance that will grab the attention of customers at its first look.

Kawasaki Ninja 250 R is adorned with fuel inject, liquid cooled 8-valve, DOHC 249 cc parallel engine chalking out 32 horsepower and maximum torque of 22 Nm. With six-speed gearbox it endorses semi-double cradle chassis. Kawasaki Ninja 250 R is capable for picking up the maximum speed varying between 160 to 170 kmph.

After successful launch of its first superbike variants Hyosung GT 650R, the South Korean two wheeler manufacturing company Hyosung in alliance with its Indian partner Garware Motors is introducing the lower variant of Hyosung GT 650 R in 250 cc segment of Indian bike market during mid of 2012. This new variant is anticipated to be the Hyosung GT 250 R.

With 249 cc engine displacement Hyosung GT 250 R stirs power of 28.5 Bhp @ 10000 rpm and maximum torque of 22.68 @ 8000 rpm, supported by 5-speed gear box, Hyosung GT 250 may set a bench mark of light weight superbikes in India.

Suzuki GW 250

4. Suzuki GW 250

Clearing the clouds of doubts behind the launch of Suzuki GW 250, Suzuki has confirmed it indeed is launching soon in India.

Nick named as Baby B King sports Suzuki GW 250 has magnetism to rule over the attitude of already dominating bikes like Honda CBR 250 R and Kawasaki Ninja 250 R. Adorning a 250 cc 4 stroke liquid cooled engine it stirs the power of 26 Bhp @ 8500 rpm and maximum torque of 24 Nm @ 7000 rpm.

After an impressive curtain raiser during Auto Expo 2010, the leading two-wheeler company TVS Motors may also launch its highly anticipated and highly awaited bike TVS Apache RTR 250 during coming months.

8. Triumph 250 cc
