Every bride wants to look and feel their best on the wedding day.

When wedding preparations begin a month in advance, it can be extremely stressful for brides to be.

This can take a toll on your health and wellness. However, following a routine, making small changes in your diet, and regular exercising can keep the stressors at bay!

Here are some tips I recommend every bride to follow, to feel strong and beautiful both inside and out, on their big day.

1. Set realistic fitness goals

Every bride wants to look fit and healthy on their wedding day. But losing 20 kilos in 2 months is not an attainable goal.

There are chances that you might cause more harm than good by setting such unrealistic goals.

Instead, figure out an ideal weight according to your height and a fitness plan accordingly.

Remember, the goal is to look fit and toned, and not just skinny.

Starting early is the key to achieve your desired goals. The sooner you begin, the sooner you'll see results, and the more encouraged you’ll be to keep going.

2. Sweat it out

Incorporate a fitness routine of around 30 minutes daily and stick to it to see better results.

Choose a combination of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and strength training to shred those inches and tone up.

Find a workout buddy, that keeps you motivated throughout your journey. But if not, even the knowledge that people are rooting for you can encourage you to keep up with your fitness routine.

3. Follow a healthy meal plan

Exercise alone cannot drive significant weight loss but it is actually your diet that drives sustained weight loss.

A diet high and proteins and vegetables, along with low consumption of processed food and meat is the way to go.

It not only boosts your stamina and makes you feel fit, but also helps the skin glow.

I suggest all the brides add fruits like berries to their diet and avoid extremely sugary and salty food.

Instead of thinking about giving up on certain food items, you want to think about it as choosing differently as this small change will definitely ease the process.

4. Skip the scale

It can be tempting to step on the weighing scale to monitor your progress after a few days of working out and eating right. But it can also be unhealthy.

There are times when a woman can lose inches while still remaining the same weight.

So, as long as you feel better and your clothes fit better, it doesn’t matter what the scale tells you.

5. Drink a lot of water

Our body weight comprises about 60% water and supports important bodily functions.

Staying hydrated can improve your energy levels and brain function, and in turn, maximise your physical performance.

It can help you perform your absolute best. Apart from physical strength, water helps regulate the toxins in your body and gives better-looking skin on your wedding day!

Drink at least 2.5 litres of water daily, to keep your body and mind happy and healthy.

6. Get sufficient sleep

Sleep is an extremely powerful tool when it comes to achieving good health and wellness.

Most brides neglect to maintain a good sleep pattern before their wedding, which can make them feel grumpy and sluggish.

An adult needs around 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily. Having a good amount of sleep will reduce stress and give you a healthy weight and great skin.

This is because your body and mind repairs and restores themselves while you sleep, supporting good physical and mental health.

7. Follow a skincare regime

Your skincare can make or break your wedding look.

Great makeup can be a quick fix to achieve a flawless look, but a natural bridal glow makes all the difference.

Besides, good skin is important on days when you don’t have any makeup on.

Invest in a good skincare routine and stick to it since it takes time to see results on your skin.

8. Make CTM your best friend!

CTM stands for Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturising and is an important process to achieve healthy-looking and glowing skin.

9. Invest in hair care

A good hair care routine is the easiest way to repair damaged hair and make them strong, healthy enough to bear heating tools you may use while getting ready for your wedding.

Thus, oil your hair twice a week for 1 to 2 hours and wash it off with a mild shampoo. This will help stimulate hair follicles and improve hair growth.

Exposure to the sun for 15 minutes daily is vital for hair growth as it is a great source of vitamin D.

You can also consult a doctor and take multivitamins in case of severe hair fall.

Wedding planning can get exhausting.

Remember to take care of yourself and follow these tips to look your best on the big day.

Lastly, do not fret over small details and enjoy your day to the fullest.
