How to get rid of a double chin

Is your double chin causing you to avoid photo sessions and social gatherings?

Though cosmetic surgery is a quick solution to the problem, it is often a costly and risky one.

We've put together a list of some great alternatives that are not only natural, but also extremely safe and effective.

Vitamin E 

Increase your intake of vitamin E (found in foods such as nuts, green leafy vegetables, dairy products, brown rice, barley, and beans) to help regain lost skin elasticity and improve overall skin health.

Cocoa butter 

Massaging the chin area with heated cocoa butter for a few minutes every morning and night is a great way to improve skin elasticity and banish a double chin.

Milk 

Regularly massaging milk under the chin will help tighten the skin in that area and help prevent or reduce any fatty tissue from accumulating there.

Egg 

Apply a mixture made of two egg whites, a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of lemon juice, and a dash of peppermint oil on the skin around the chin and neck region, to tighten the jowls.

Melon 

Apply concentrated melon juice on sagging skin around the chin area and other parts of the body.

Wash off using warm water, after 20 minutes.

Apple 

You can also apply apple juice (without adding water) on sagging skin around the chin and neck area to reduce the appearance of heavy jowls.

Mix apple juice with juice of melon, for additional benefits.

Wheat germ oil 

A massage on the neck and chin region using wheat germ oil (rich in vitamin E) before you sleep works wonders when it comes to eliminating a double chin.

Posture

Make sure you don't let your head droop forward or bend backward, when walking.

Also, when sitting at a computer, keep your head straight and eyes in line with the top of the screen.

Don't use a high pillow 

Using a high pillow when you sleep can cause the skin to stretch, thereby causing the skin around the chin and neck to sag.

Moisturise 

Keeping the face and neck region hydrated ensures that the skin is well toned and does not sag.

Water 

Drinking around 8 glasses of water a day helps eliminate toxins from the body and keeps the system well hydrated, thus promoting weight loss and excess fat in the chin area to disappear.

Glycerin 

Apply a mask made by mixing one tablespoon of glycerin, some peppermint oil, and half a teaspoon of Epsom salt on the chin area for 20 minutes, to get rid of a double chin.

Green tea 

Consuming green tea, which contains antioxidants and other components that boost your metabolism can help you burn calories, thereby preventing or eliminating a double chin.

Chewing gum 

Chew gum to tone the muscles of the face and neck and, in the process, eliminate that annoying double chin.
