June 21 is International Yoga Day.

Started in 2015, the day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga on one's physical, mental and spiritual well being.

Over the years, we have seen an increasing number of celebrities, including models, actors and sportspersons endorsing yoga for a fit and clean mind and body.

When Shilpa Shetty was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis, her physiotherapist had advised her to do yoga.

'It (yoga) not only healed my neck, but also strengthened it as well,' the actor said in an interview.

Actor Bhagyashree also thanks yoga for helping her recover from calcification of shoulder on the rotator cuff.

'When I suffered from calcification of my shoulder and subacromial bursitis of rotator cuff I was told undoubtedly that I would require a surgery. Frightened of being incapacitated, I chose to seek alternative therapy (yoga) and succeeded," the actor wrote on her blog in November 2017.

And she's not alone.

It has helped people fight bulimia, improve agility and flexibility, fight negativity and even improve sex.

Actor-model Malaika Arora loves acroyoga and hardly misses her sessions, while Vidya Malavade is a yoga teacher and Ashtanga yogi.

Ahead of Yoga Day, we want you to tell us how yoga has helped you.
