New York Fashion Week and Marvel Studios transported visitors to the hottest 'African nation' of the season -- the mythical Wakanda where the superhero movie Black Panther takes place.
The immersion was complete with the stage set under a blue sky and surrounded by greenery and the stars of the film, including Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong'o, mingling with the crowd.
The NYFW and Marvel presentation was the first of its kind for the studio Walt Disney Co, which owns Marvel.

Carter, who is the costume designer for Black Panther, 'drew from real people and places, traveling across Africa to study the patterns, bead work and silhouettes of various tribes and peoples,' a Reuters report says.
