The Summer/Resort collection going to be about inclusive fashion -- watch out for slits, yellow, khaki and gold creations, says Joyeeta Palit.
The Lakme Fashion Week (LFW), a five-day gala, is a bi-annual event.
The Summer/Resort instalment for the year commences February 1 and will be focussing on 'inclusivity in fashion' through its creations.
Last season, LFW created headlines by having the first ever show for plus-size with a retail brand.
This time, the #TagFree show will showcase people and styles from every walk of life.
With just a few hours left for the big day, here are a few trends that may rock the ramp this season.

The obsession with shoulders has not waned this year.
The single shoulder cut-out could be anything from the cliched one shoulder cut-out to strategically placed cut-outs that are done to create maximum impact.
This trend brings together sheer class and oomph to one outfit. You may find this trend applied to traditional as well as western outfits. #Inclusivity!
#2. Shades of yellow

Expect this cheery hue to rule the ramp this year.
The colour can vary from anything starting from bright to ochre.
From Deepika Padukone to Jennifer Lopez, a lot of celebrities have been wearing yellow to the red carpet.
The range of shades in yellow is bound to brighten up your ensemble regardless of your skin tone!
#3. Anything gold

It has been made apparent that fashion genius Anita Dongre will be the closing act of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017.
The designer, hailing from Bandra has dropped little hints about what you may expect from her this season.
Her designs will centre on the sun-kissed sands of Rajasthan. You will find a lot of gold incorporated with her brand signature gota patti, which will definitely feature in her collection.
Gold is bound to keep the stage glistening in all its glory and the traditional Rajasthani stitches will keep the masses and classes spell-bound.
#4. Khaki

This utilitarian material has been in use since forever and the trend does not look to fade away this year as well.
Khaki is a trend that every designer seems to have mastered.
This particular style and the variations that come up every year set the baseline for every fashion enthusiast and practically redefine street wear. It is such a trend that can pass off as sombre yet perfect for every ocassion.
#5. Sleeve slit

The previous year, we have witnessed a lot of flared sleeves that seemed to have been the rage last season. But this year, we may be expecting the slit.
Upping the game in bracelets and bangle will be necessary to create the maximum impact with this trend.
Last year has been all about minimalism, and this year will be no different when it comes to street wear fashion.
