Gastroenterologist Dr Jose Filipe Alvares helped address issues pertaining to digestive troubles during a chat on March 29.

Deven asked, Hi Doc, Recently from the last 2 years i have been having this stomach pain. Whenever i go to my family doctor he says that its gastro and it is because of food eaten outside. Please note that i carry boiled water and eat only warm food if i have to eat outside without chatni. Tell me what is the problem as i am a little scared. 
Dr Jose Filipe Alvares answers, There's no problem with you. Don't worry.

 


 

feroz asked, Sir, I have some stomuch problem as i use to take the food out side in retaurants my age is 39, my bigger intestine some times get swollen i got this checked up by Gastroenterologist first two times he had given me course and then afterwards he told me to take Orni-o for atleast3 days whenever i fet this problem, now problem has got reduced and whenever it happens i take orni-o, my weight is around 83 kg, any tips you would like to give sir?
gastroenterologist Dr Jose Filipe Alvares answers, There is no real problem with you. A probiotic like Probiza 1-0-1 x 1 month will be good for you.

 

 

astro23 asked, hi sir. i get a lot of acid reflux after food. had got that test done where u put a pipe inside the stomach. it showed everythin normal. took a lot of medicines too. i tried EVERYTHING possible like controlling my food habbits, not sleeping after food for a couple of hours etc. but nothing seems to cure or suppress the reflux. what do i do? thanks..
gastroenterologist Dr Jose Filipe Alvares answers, Take HAPPI-D 1-0-0 and Itokine 50 mg 1-0-1 x 1 month. Use two pillows while sleeping and don't sleep immediately after eating. Avoid spicy foods and citric foods.

gastroenterologist Dr Jose Filipe Alvares answers, Avoid milk and milk-based products. Avoid too much of spicy and oily foods.

i have also faced acids comeing up in my mouth and my throat burns as i have taken a lot of chilly. this all happens only in night. I take around 3-4 cups of tea daily and take lot of salad and curd in my lunch and dinner I dont take much heavy lunch and dinner. Even I dont eat much i am gaining weight, I am 45, my weight is around 98.

Kous asked, Sir, I do excersice 4 times a week.I eat frequent meals atleat 4-5 times a day.Drink 2-3 litres of water.I go to toilet 2-3 times.Is it normal for a person to go to toilet for 2-3 times a day ie, does the food get digested properly or not?Also i have Gas problems and sometimes little pain in my lower abdomen but not regular?
