The 19:9 aspect ratio displays and a notch have become a trend, set by Apple iPhone X, for most of the phone manufacturers these days.

Vivo has already launched its X21 series in Chinese market with more premium features.

On the front side is a notch at the top, which houses a 24 MP camera, an earpiece and other sensors.

The rest of the property is occupied by the 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 (Full HD plus) leaving thin bezel at the bottom.

The phone runs on more than an year old Qualcomm's Snapdragon 626, backed by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM.

The memory can be further expanded by up to 256 GB using a dedicated micro SD card.

The major selling point of Vivo V9 would be its camera.

The front snapper is a 24 MP camera with AI Beauty mode. On the rear is a dual camera setup offering 16 MP + 5 MP.

All the cameras have a fixed aperture of f/2.0.

The front and the rear camera experience is enhanced using AI, for taking portrait photos with bokeh, photos in lowlight condition, apply AR stickers and HDR.

The phone's interaction is done through Vivo's Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android Oreo 8.1.

Vivo adds AI based face unlock feature to the phone as Raise to Wake, in which the phone is unlocked as you raise the phone in front of your face.

Other than face unlock, there is a traditional fingerprint scanner ergonomically placed on the phone's rear.

Vivo has packed all these features for ₹ 22,990.

Vivo faces competition from other players which give you better hardware specs for same or lesser price.

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 Pro which is selling like hot cake now with the latest process comes at a lower price. Motorola's Moto X4 also offers you a good deal.
