The Hero Maestro Edge and Duet are here!

Sales for Hero's all-new Maestro Edge scooter will commence from October while the Duet will be launched in the following weeks positioned below the flagship Edge, says Indian automobile website MotorBeam.

Hero MotoCorp has officially launched the Maestro Edge scooter in the country with prices starting at Rs 49,500 for the LX trim and Rs 50,700 for the VX trim (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The automaker also unveiled the new Duet scooter at the event that will be launched in a few weeks, while sales for the Maestro Edge will start from October 13 pan India.

Loaded on features, the Hero Maestro Edge and Duet scooters share the same equipment getting a mobile charging port, remote seat and fuel-lid opening; pass switch, front luggage box, throttle position sensor (TPS), digital-analog instrument cluster with service due and side stand indicator, boot light and twin parking lamps.

The Maestro Edge further boasts of a sporty design, European switches with easily serviceable covers, an LED tail light, along with a bike-like exhaust muffler, 12-inch (front) alloy wheels and seven colour options. The Duet comes with a more neutral styling, steel wheels, chrome garnish and six colour options.

Under the belly, an 110.9cc single-cylinder engine powers both the scooters churning out 8.31 HP of power at 8000 RPM and 8.3 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM, paired to a CVT transmission. Both models come with a telescopic front suspension and conventional shock absorbers at the rear, while Integrated Braking System (IBS) is being offered for better stopping power.

The new Hero Maestro Edge and Duet scooters will be competing in the heavily crowded 110cc scooter space against the Honda Activa range, TVS Wego, Jupiter, Mahindra Gusto, Suzuki Let's and the likes. However, the feature-laden Hero scooters have a competitive edge while fuel efficiency figures are class leading with the Duet returning 63.8 km/l and the Maestro Edge 65.8 km/l.
