The realme X50 Pro 5G is a future ready phone that comes loaded with fancy tech for gamers and social media buffs, says Ashish Narsale.
Pros
Cons
Chinese phone maker realme is on a rampage to capture the Indian phone market in every price segment.
It has recently launched its flagship realme X50 Pro 5G.
The 5G enabled phone comes beefed-up with all the latest tech one could imagine in a flagship phone.
But 5G? Errm...I don't think the time is right to spend on an advanced technology that is not available to use in India.
But yes, if you plan to move to a country where you will be using 5G, this phone is worth checking out!
The phone is primarily built for gamers, social media photographers and vloggers.
Design and Display
The phone looks splendid both in frosted glass back moss green and rust red colours.
The 6.25" inch phone comes with 6.44" inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.
The icing on cake is its 90Hz display for smooth UI and graphics animation for gaming.
The display also comes with HDR10+ certification to enjoy HDR games and streaming movies.
There is a cut out in top left of the phone shaped like a capsule for the front facing dual cameras. The position is apt to avoid distraction while playing games or watching movie when the phone is held horizontally.
The in-display fingerprint sensor is placed at the bottom centre of the screen.
The display and the back glass are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Hardware
Realme X50 Pro 5G features the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G SoC based on 7nm processor technology for power efficiency.

The 6GB+128GB variant is available at Rs 37,999.
Some of you may be disappointed to know that it doesn't support storage expansion via memory card.
Camera
You get six cameras -- two in front and four in the rear.
There is a 32MP and 8MP wide and ultra-wide angle cameras for quick and clear selfies.
The rear features a 64MP main camera, 8MP with ultra-wide lens which also works as a macro lens, a 12MP telephoto lens and a 2MP monochrome camera for depth sensing while shooting portraits.
Battery
The 4200mAh battery can be fast charged using realme's 65W SuperDart Charge technology charger which comes included in the box.
The company claims that the phone can be charged from 0-100 in just 35 minutes.
Sound
The in-built stereo speakers are certified by Dolby Atmos technology for surround sound.
There is no 3.5 mm audio port, so you will have to use a wireless headset or opt for type-C to 3.5mm audio adapter.
Software
The phone runs on Google's Android 10 skinned with realme UI.
Verdict
The realme X50 Pro 5G is a future ready phone that comes with fancy and functional specs that will interest gaming enthusiasts and social media buffs.
Starting at Rs 37,999 for 6GB+128GB, the phone may seem steep right now. Because, frankly, if you live in India, why you would pay for 5G yet?
