gpandit: Sir, my son is in Class 12 PIO card holder educated in India.

There is confusion about the options available to pursue engineering in India as sending him to US for under graduation is unaffordable.

Some colleges replied that they'll treat him on par with Indian citizens others say he falls under NRI category.

The NITs and the IIITs say it should be through DASA. Plz. clarify.

NNS Chandra: Pandit, I know. Things are getting clearer now in terms of admissions Indian schools for dual citizens.

When compared to previous years.

General rule is to consider years of residency along with status of citizenship.

Please send me all the details of years he studied in Indian systems etc, I will respond in detail.

She is presently employed in a leading engineering firm in US ( INDIANA STATE ).

Kindly advise which studies can she pursue further.

NNS Chandra: Wow, where is she working now in Indiana? Great place to work.

She should and can definitely push towards doctoral studies. Securing spot with great school and under top faculty is key.

Depends mostly on her work now, and research education/experience. Some of my students study.

Management and international relations and this way they can get into consulting. Globally. Please ask her to write to me.

Tayyab Ghaffar: My son scored 290 in GRE and 100 in TOEFL. She has 4 years of work experience with SITEL after her graduation (BTech IT- 79 per cent).

What are her chances in getting MS course in MIS in USA and it would be a great help if you could give me some list of universities.

NNS Chandra: Hi Tayyab, listing university requires additional data. ECS, scores, grades, and I want to review SOP also.

Securing spot with top schools can be a challenge with data you gave me. Absolutely many schools are possible.

Siraj Memon: Sir I have done BDS and I am very much interested to do my PG from the United States, Is it possible ?

NNS Chandra: Of course yes, siraj, route is slightly different. Please email me your credentials and grades, and university. I will write with more data.

NNS Chandra: Dear vineeth, I did answer a similar question. Please refer. I will explain in detail in a sec.

But I am so glad so many Indian students are seriously considering American medical schools.
