What is it about?

The CFA Institute, an international association for investment management professionals is inviting applications for its Young Women in Investment initiative.

The YWI initiative is a part of the CFA Institute Women in Investment Management to improve investor outcomes by encouraging gender diversity in the investment management profession.

The 2019 program will enable 100 selected eligible women from any educational discipline to be part of a boot camp followed by an industry internship.

The four weeks intensive boot camp scheduled between May and June 2019 includes free lodging, board and classroom sessions on core finance and business skills.

Each participant in the boot camp -- which will be held in Bengaluru and Mumbai -- will be offered a stipend paying internship (monthly stipend of Rs 20,000) for a period of three to six months at a reputed financial institution in India.

Who can apply?

The camp is open to any Indian female, irrespective of backgrounds in engineering, arts, sciences or commerce who wants to pursue a career in finance.

The minimum eligibility is graduation in any degree. Final year undergraduates may also apply.

Important dates

March 31 is the last date to apply.

The boot camp is scheduled May and June 2019.

The end date for internship may vary between end of September 2019 and end of January 2020.
