When you push others to do their best, you solidify your own foundation, says Munira Rangwala.
You once conceived a brilliant business idea that propelled you towards success almost instantly.
Do you find yourself under pressure to repeat that kind of success again? Succeeding once is hard as it is.
Succeeding multiple times is often impossible. This is because when most people achieve success, they tend to get complacent.
The difference between people who reach the top and maintain their position and people who reach the top only to fall back down is the lack of continual self-improvement.
Here are five habits that will help you achieve hall-of-fame-level success.
#1. Pursue your dreams
Start by recognising what you love doing and what you don't.
If you continue working at a job that doesn't inspire you, you will never be motivated to achieve anything great.
Evaluate your likes, dislikes, what gets you charged up, and what you couldn't be bothered doing.
When you are true to yourself, you’ll be willing to stretch yourself thin to fulfil your dreams.
Be intelligent about your choices. If you follow the herd, you will fall with the herd.
#2. Give your 100 percent each time
Just because you've been successful the first time around doesn't mean success will follow you no matter what you do.
If you are starting a new venture, you have to disregard your previous wins and begin from scratch.
Put all you've got into your work this time, just the way you did before. When you make the best of your circumstances, success is bound to follow.
#3. Always give credit where it's due
Never be afraid to claim credit for your hard work but also remember never to steal credit for someone else's efforts.
When you push others to do their best, you solidify your own foundation.
When you take people with you on your way up, they will ensure you stay at the top for their benefit as well as for yours.
#4. Help those around you
If you're in a position to help people around you, do so without any hesitation.
Individuals with short-term success on their minds think about themselves and how they can get ahead.
However, those who wish to achieve hall-of-fame-level success and stay there think about how they can use their talents and position to give to others and not just receive.
#5. Learn to deal with rejection
If you've been successful once, you'll know that failure is a part of the journey.
You need to surround yourself with people who aren't afraid to tell you the truth.
Teach yourself to view constructive criticism as a blessing.
When you learn from your rejections instead of becoming egoistic about them, you are bound to succeed.
If you want to continue to achieve success, you need to steadily grow your knowledge, skill set, and abilities. Remember, if you can achieve success once, you can do so over and over again.
