Amish Tripathi launched his much-awaited Son of Ikshvaku in Mumbai on Monday.
It was bigger than any launch we've seen in Mumbai and it cemented Amish's position as a literary superstar in the country.
We covered the event live on ZaraBol (see it here).
We caught up with him before the madness began and threw a bunch of questions at him.
These were his responses:
What is the one thing you'd like to tell young Indians?
What is the one thing you'd like aspiring authors to know?
What is your greatest strength?
What is the most important lesson you've learnt from mythology?
Who's your favourite mythological character?
(Duh!)
And finally, what is better: failure or success?
Amish also took a few questions about the book on camera.
He told us that in the book, he discusses and debates the idea of Rama Rajya and just how he hoped to deal with the polarising figure that Rama has become especially in these politically sensitive times.
