Suzuki Motorcycle India has hit the bull's eye with its Gixxer. The Gixxer is one of the most popular two-wheelers from the Japanese company's stable and the manufacturer has now managed to sell 10,000 units of the bike in October 2015. As compared to September 2015, the Gixxer received a 15 per cent growth in sales last month. The bike was launched in September 2014.
Since the bike's launch, this is for the first time when the company has sold more than 10,000 units.
The Gixxer has now claimed its position as one of the top five selling 150cc bikes in the country. Suzuki was able to garner even more volumes for the motorcycle with the arrival of the Gixxer SF, a fully-faired version of the bike.
The Suzuki Gixxer is powered by a 154.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine that belts out 14.8 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM.
The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The Gixxer comes with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology and manages to return a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 63.5 km/l.
The Gixxer has received quite a few upgrades in the past few months. A dual tone paint scheme was introduced on the bike and the Gixxer and Gixxer SF models will be getting a new variant with rear disc brake as optional in the coming few months.
Suzuki's overall sales for the month of October have increased to 35,936 units compared to 31,240 units in September 2015.
