December 08, 2015 12:47 IST

While details are yet to be confirmed there are chances that Bajaj will launch the KTM RC 390 as quietly as they launched the KTM Duke 390

KTM RC 390

The KTM RC 390 was recently spotted at Bajaj's Chakan Plant in Pune after making its world debut at EICMA, Milan and Indian fans may get to see this bike by next year. However, Bajaj has not yet confirmed any details about the official launch in the country. Expectations of witnessing the KTM RC 390 at the Indian Auto Expo must be put on hold, as Bajaj is not participating in the event.

Just like the company launched the updated version of KTM Duke 390, we may see another silent launch of the RC 390. Talking about technical specs, the RC 390 will be equipped with slipper clutch, an aluminum exhaust (replaced by underbelly exhaust), switchable ABS, 320mm front disc brake, ride by wire technology (replaced by customary cable mechanism) and clutch levers. The newly added exhaust falls under Euro 4 emission laws.

KTM RC390 will have a single cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled 373.2 cc engine. This machine will produce maximum power of 43 hp and 35Nm of torque that will be mated with a 6-speed transmission.

Visually, compared to the current version, the bike won't be offered with many upgradations except the bigger front disc brake and aluminum exhaust. The company has not revealed the price, but we can expect it to be priced around Rs 210,561 (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Till the time we spot the machine in India, let's have a look at its few attractive features:

Handlebar: The bike is equipped with clip-on handlebars. Also, switches are given on the handle to give it a sporty and aggressive look with advanced control.

Seat: Keeping in mind the comfort for both rider and pillion, the seating comes with first class ergonomics. Height of the seat on this muscular machine is 820mm, to give it a big-bike feeling.

Fuel tank: The bike will have a 10 litre fuel tank including 1.5 litre of reserve capacity. The styling on the fuel tank perfectly matches the supersport design, together with rider ergonomics.

Windshield: An incredible protection from wind for chest and arms can be observed while riding the bike, as the advanced design windshield has been given with the aerodynamic-optimised motorcycle front.
