December 11, 2015 10:22 IST

Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ-S and Honda CB Hornet 160R, beware! Here comes the Hunk.

Before the official launch of Hulk facelift, Hero Motocorp has updated their website and added the latest offering to its existing line up. The 2016 model of Hunk gets some cosmetic updates and the same engine has now been tuned to produce more power. The motorcycle will be offered with similar styling, but some changes are quite prominent and can be noticed easily.

The facelift includes new headlights, revised instrument cluster with a stand indicator, a crash guard and projected fuel tank scoops with air vents.

The tail light, turn indicators and rear view mirrors are borrowed from the previous model. The 2016 Hunk is available in six colors -- Bold Brown, Blazing Red, Panther Black, Matte Black, Ebony Grey and Force Silver.

It is priced at Rs 69,725 for Disc Brake Alloy Wheel variant and Rs 72,825 for Double Disc Brake Alloy Wheel trim (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Hunk facelift is equipped with a 149.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 15.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

The suspension system remains the same and consists of telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The bike comes equipped with 80/100 x 18-47 P front and 100/90 x 18-56 P rear tubeless tyres wrapped on alloy wheels.

For stopping power, the front wheel has 240mm dia disc brakes and the rear wheel gets an option to choose from 220mm Dia disc brakes or 130mm drum brake. The dimensions of the motorcycle are 2,080mm x 765mm x 1,095mm (L x W x H). It has a wheelbase and minimum ground clearance of 1,325mm and 163mm respectively.

Although an announcement about the launch is still awaited, the Hunk facelift is already available at dealerships and Hero MotoCorp has updated the price on its website. The 2016 Hunk will rival the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ-S and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
