Mahindra Gusto owns a 109.6cc all aluminum M-Tech mill. The engine is configured to churn out maximum power of 8bhp at an acceleration rate of 7500rpm and a top torque of 8.5Nm between 5000rpm to 6000rpm.

With the finest acceleration in its segment, the Gusto zooms from 0-60kmph in mere 10.3 seconds.

Alongside brilliant performance, the machine also claims the best-in-class mileage of 63kmpl (ARAI approved).

First-in-class features

Mahindra Gusto sets a new benchmark with a couple of first-in-class features.

The list starts with Seat Click Mechanism and Opening: the seat of Gusto opens from the rider's end; also the seat gets stuck to the top and does not come back until it's closed. There is a quick storage option on the handlebar that enables the rider to put her/his wallet/mobile or any other important utility stuff.

Furthermore, the company has incorporated height adjustable seat, remote flip key, find me lamps and guide lamps only in the Vx variant of Gusto. The seat height of the machine can be adjusted from 735mm to 770mm depending on the comfort of the rider.

Craftsmanship

Mahindra Gusto is built on under-born type tubular steel frame that results in strong rideability. For the first time a scooter in this segment is displaying a ground clearance of about 165mm along with a wheelbase of 1275mm.

The ride becomes super smooth and comfortable with the adjustable seat height feature that helps riders of all heights to work their hands on this state-of-the-art scooter.

Everything associated with the scooter defines luxury: from its key to kick. The headlamps are integrated with LED pilot lamps. Long contoured seats lend extended comfort to the rider and the pillion.

Suspension

Mahindra has not only made the ride look convincing but has also worked hard for better manoeuverability. The company has used hydraulic type telescopic suspensions at front and hydraulic type coil spring at the rear.

Maintaining a perfect balance during the ride, the suspension system is good enough to ride over potholes and bumps with ease. The suspensions helps the rider to maintain a fine control over the ride.

Braking

The company claims that the scooter is the fastest to pick-up speed and at the same time is capable enough to brake itself.

Technically, the scooter is equipped with a 130mm drum brake that works at both the ends. The system works properly with the suspensions and makes the ride feel safer.

Tyres and wheels

Mahindra Gusto

Largest set of wheels, i.e., 12-inch are equipped to the 90 section MRF Zapper tyres. These tyres make Mahindra Gusto run smoothly on all sorts of terrain. The aesthetics of the scooter are embellished with chrome finish for wheels. The tubeless tyres with 12-inch wheels improve riding quality and reduce the chance of halting due to punctures.

Competition

Mahindra has designed Gusto to make a mark among its peers. Gusto's features and specifications can easily take on competition from Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter and Hero MotoCorp Maestro.

The aggressive price tag will further help it steal the market share from competition. The fascinating design and features like adjustable seats took our breath away and help riders with different heights in the same family enjoy the Gusto.
