Benelli TNT 25 street-fighter to take on KTM Duke 200

The Benelli TNT 25 is a single-cylinder quarter-litre offering positioned below the TNT 300 that will take on the KTM Duke 200, Mahindra Mojo and Honda CBR250R in the segment, says Indian automobile website MotorBeam.

Benelli made a grand entry in India with the launch of five models earlier this year and will soon expand its line-up with two new models. First of the two new products is the TNT 25 street-fighter that will also be the company's most affordable offering in the country while the Trek Amazonas is a high capacity tourer.

The Benelli TNT 25 measures 2080 mm in length, 805 mm in width and 1090 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1385 mm and gets a 130 mm ground clearance. The bike lugs a kerb weight of 150 kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 16.5-litres.

The street-fighter has a top speed of 145 km/hr and competes with the KTM Duke 200, Mahindra Mojo and the likes in the segment.

In terms of mechanicals, the Benelli TNT 25 draws power from a 251.5cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine churning out 25 HP and 21 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets telescopic front forks and a monoshock set-up at the rear with braking performance coming from front and rear discs.

The Benelli Trek Amazonas is a semi-faired tourer that draws power from a 1131cc engine producing 126 HP and 112 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox and has a kerb weight of 205 kgs.

The bike also comes with a sizeable fuel tank of 22-litres that ensures a longer travel range.

The Benelli Trek Amazonas will be arriving in India by the end of 2015 and will rival the Triumph Tiger series among other offerings.

As part of its product offensive, Benelli also plans to introduce a premium scooter by this year end or early 2016. The company is rapidly expanding its dealership pan India.
