Fresh investment: stagger your investments in 12 to 18 months either through SIP or STP for averaging out the investments at different market levels, i.e., at NAV instead of lumpsum investment at one go.

In Multi Cap: UTI Equity Fund-growth Plan-growth is a better option

In Large Cap: Axis Bluechip Fund - Growth is a better option

In Focused: Axis Focused 25 Fund - Growth Option / IIFL Focused Equity Fund - Growth are better options

Rest of the funds are fine.

Saif: Can you please advise if I should continue with the following funds, and in which funds should I invest more for good returns in 3 to 5 years down the line.

1. TATA Equity PE Fund (Investing 2500pm for past 3 years)

2. Canara Robeco Emerging Equities fund (Investing 2500pm for past 3 years) 

3. ICICI Prudential Equity & Debt Fund-Direct Plan   (Investing 2500pm for past 3 years) 

4. Canara Robeco Equity Hybrid Fund- Direct Plan

Also, can you please recommend if one should invest in Gold funds, and if so which gold fund would be good for bulk investment?

Too many Sectoral Funds; the risk of concentration is high; instead diversified funds are better option.

  1. UTI Equity Fund – Growth
  2. DSP mid cap Fund – Growth
  3. Tata Large & Mid Cap Fund - Growth
  4. Canara Robeco Emerging Equities – Growth

Above funds have decent exposure to Pharma, Banking and Technology

Rest of the funds are okay.

Anonymus: I am investing in mutual funds since last two years. I am 39 yrs old. Kindly let me for the above schemes.

1. SBI Bluechip direct growth - 5000 pm

2. SBI Equity Hybrid direct growth - 5000 pm

arvind agrawal: Nowadays many people are investing in International Funds launched by Indian AMCs due to superior returns. Pl advice whether they are safe and one should invest in such funds? If yes then pl suggest an Indian fund who invest in international equities or international fund.
