The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009 for admission to the IIMs and other premier Indian B-schools made its debut as a computer-based test in December 2009.

However, over the eleven-day testing period candidates encountered a variety of problems while taking the test. Computers shut down mid-test, frozen monitor screens and last-minute rescheduling of test slots were just some of the issues B-school hopefuls faced.

Due to this and to enable genuine candidates to take the test again, the IIMs have announced that they will hold the second phase of CAT testing on January 30 and 31.

So, what are the things candidates should bear in mind as they attempt the test the second time around? What are the issues that candidates faced that can be avoided?

If you took the CAT successfully, here's your chance to share your experiences and tips.

Share your advice and learnings on the messageboard below.
