With the new college term about to commence, the University Grants Commission has asked universities across the country to take effective steps against ragging. Sure, it looks like a harmless, fun form of initiation in movies like Munnabhai [Images] MBBS where freshers are made to dance in their underwear in the college corridors, but in reality ragging has led to several tragedies like sexual assault and suicides.
Were you ragged when you first joined college? What did it involve?
Was the teasing in the spirit of fun or did it prove to be an awful experience?
Do you think that ragging as a form of initiation/interaction between senior and junior students needs to be done away with altogether? Or do you think mild forms of teasing are harmless enough?
