What: The University Grants Commission, New Delhi, invites applications from university rank holders at the undergraduate level for the Post-Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme.

Programme details

~ The selection will be based purely on merit.

~ Under this scheme, the awardees can pursue their post-graduate programme in any area of specialisation.

~ The duration of scholarship is two years.

~ The number of scholarships per year:

~ The scholarship will give the awardees Rs 2,000 per month.

Are you eligible?

~ You could have completed a general or honours course at the undergraduat level.

~ In general courses, you must have attained the first or second rank.

~ In honours courses, you must have attained the first rank.

~ You must have secured a minimum of sixty percent marks at the undergraduate level.

~ You must be in your first year of post-graduation study in any of the above-mentioned fields.

How to apply

~ You may submit your application with the following details:

Your application must reach by November 5.

Other conditions

~ A student who is awarded the post-graduate scholarship will not be debarred from accepting any other scholarship.

~ Students desirous of leaving their studies mid-way without completing the post-graduate degree will have to take prior approval from the UGC by submitting an application along with their justification through the concerned university.

~ The university/ college will have to submit a certificate confirming completion of the post-graduate course by the scholarship student.
