If you want to have black hair the natural way -- without dyeing or colouring it -- eat plenty of curry leaves and gooseberries.

Avoid using a hair dryer unless it's really necessary.

Use beer for the last rinse after a bath. This really brings out the shine in your hair and conditions it beautifully. Lemon diluted with water works the same way.

Trim your hair once in three months. This will ensure it grows well and will keep the split ends away.

Have a serious case of dandruff-itis?

Dilute Dettol with water. Use a cotton ball to dab your scalp with this solution.

Wash your hair after a little while. Your hair will soon be dandruff-free.

If you have dry hair, don't apply henna unless you oil your hair.

Are you greying?

Try this desi remedy.

Dry rose petals in the sun. Then boil them in coconut oil.

Using this oil helps tackle the problem of greying hair. It also helps control hair loss.

Trust me, it works. I've tried it.

A quick cure for dandruff

Plagued by dandruff? I have a simple solution.

Crush some camphor (locally known as capoor, it is available at most stories that sell agarbatti and other puja-related stuff).

Rub the powder into your scalp. Leave it on for three to four hours before washing your hair.

In two to three months, your dandruff will disappear. Mine did.
