Gateway was born from the desire of one of Hollywood’s greatest producers to build a real bridge between the enormous filmmaking talent in India and the tremendous dream making factory that is Hollywood. Ashok Amritraj has spent the last 30 years building in the World of Hollywood a peerless name for both himself and his company, Hyde Park Entertainment. His success as a filmmaker stands as a testament to his triumph.

As a Non-Resident Indian with firm roots in India, Amritraj’s bond and connections with the Indian film industry have never waned and have only strengthened over the years. With his current status as one of Hollywood’s prolific producers, Ashok is uniquely positioned to build this bridge between the two worlds, and to open this Gateway to Hollywood.

An essential and elemental part of the human experience is telling stories, whether it’s around the campfire, at home when getting tucked into bed, around the Board Room or at the water cooler, at the corner shop, in a book, magazine, or up on the silver screen. That is what Gateway is all about. Gateway is a competition that is ultimately about finding new, emerging Indian filmmaking talent and giving them a chance to tell their stories around the world.
