War over Kargil

This film about the Kargil war has created more heat off-screen than on-screen. After writer-director Aamir Raza Husain staged his play, The 50-Day War, it was decided to make a film called Lakeer based on it. Cinevista stepped in as producers with Husain as director. This was in November 2001.

Now both the parties are embroiled in a legal battle with Cinevista filing an arbitration claim of Rs 30 million on Husain for breech of agreement. Cinevista pulled out as producer in June. Read on...
