Bollywood - Dull before the storm
In case you haven’t noticed, no big banner Hindi film (nor a Hollywood biggie) is releasing today. But in a country where film launches and releases are determined by religious and astrological factors, a dull week at cinema halls shouldn’t come as a surprise.
This year, in particular, has been a release-free week because of the Muslims’ holy month Ramzan, which started within three days of Diwali. With Diwali funds being exhausted, producers and distributors have shied away from pumping their money into releasing big budget flicks.
