Aankhen to premier at the IIFAs in Malaysia!
The International Indian Film Award, will be held in Malaysia on April 5. This year the IIFA will premier Aankhen, the Amitabh-Akshay-Arjun Rampal starrer that has been directed by Vipul Shah. Last year Aamir Khan’s Lagaan was premiered at the awards that were held in Cape Town.
CII to felicitate Lata Mangeshkar, Yash Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan
The Confederation of Indian Industry will felicitate Lata Mangeshkar, Yash Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan, for their outstanding contribution to the film industry. To be felicitated by the Union Minister of Power, Suresh Prabhu, the ceremony will be held in Mumbai on Wednesday, after the inauguration of the two-day conference on 'Business of entertainment', organised by CII.
A film on the WTC and Parliament attacks
The Titan finance group of America has launched a film focussing on the attacks on the World Trade Centre in the US and the Parliament House in New Delhi last year. With actress Manisha Koirala playing a pivotal role, the yet to be titled English film, is written by the US-based Indian authoress Mridula Mitra Vyas, whose novel A Wounded Tigress had received rave reviews worldwide. The film, to be dubbed in Hindi will be directed by Ujjal Chattopadhyaya. The rest of the cast has yet to be finalised.
David Dhawan wraps up Chor Machaye Shor
Director David Dhawan has wrapped up his Bobbl Deol starrer, Chor Machaye Shor. Said to be based on the Hollywood hit Blue Streak, the film has Shilpa Shetty as the female lead. Another film Dhawan is working hard on is Hum Kisse Kum Nahin. The Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai starrer is based on the Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal starrer Analyze This.
