Amitabh, Karisma win Critics' AwardsRonjita Kulkarni in Mumbai Amitabh Bachchan won the Critics' Award for his role in Aks, Karisma Kapoor won the Critics' Award for her performance of the young, spirited but confused girl in Zubeidaa at the Manikchand Filmfare Awards 2001 held at Mumbai's Bandra Kurla MMRDA grounds. Farhan Akhtar won the Critics' nod for his direction in Dil Chahta Hai. Veteran lyricist-poet Gulzar of Maachis, Mausam fame won the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Hindi cinema. Asha Parekh, the winsome presence of the 1960s, was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to cinema.
