Badhaai Ho Badhaai, is a 'family entertainer' that revolves around Raja's (Anil Kapoor) quest to reconcile the differences between two sparring families -- the Chaddas and the D'Souzas, who have been warring for 25 years.

The film is said to be a take-off on the Eddie Murphy starrer The Nutty Professor and the Gwyneth Paltrow starrer Shallow Hal.

Enter 'fat man' Raja. He walks into the lives of the Chaddas and the D'Souzas, claiming to be their grandson, hoping to win back their trust. But his grandparents are determined to get him married. To escape the predicament, Raja says that he's already married to a certain Banto Betty.

What astounds him is that an imposter claiming to be Banto Betty (Shilpa Shetty) comes into the picture, posing as his wife.
