HC prohibits Lajja cable screenings

Lajja The Delhi High Court has banned cable operators from screening the Hindi film Lajja, which releases today.

Justice V S Agarwal, passed this interim order on a suit by film's producer Santoshi Production.

The court said the stay order would continue to stay in effect till February 8, 2002.

Santoshi Production named Win Cable, Indusind Media Communication, South Delhi Communication Network, West Delhi Cable Network as respondents in its plaint.

Aamir, Hrithik and Urmila served hot at Cafe Bollywood

Aamir After turning producers, Pantaloon has now come up with a novel concept to lure Bollywood buffs.

A 50,000 feet eatery -- Café Bollywood along the lines of the famous Hard Rock cafe.

Aamir Khan is expected to inagurate the cafe and Hrithik and Urmila will be their star patrons.

Amjad Khan's son to write film scripts

Amjad Khan Gabbar Singh Amjad Khan's son -- Shadab Khan has now turned from actor to scriptwriter.

His debut film will be the Jackie Shroff produced Sandhya. The film stars Jackie and Sushmita Sen in leads and will be directed by Sangeeth Sivan.

Assamese film at Asian film festival

Lakhtokiat Golam -- an Assamese film has been selected to compete at the Film South Asia 2001 festival, to be held in Kathmandu.

Director-producer Altaf Mazid said that the film revolved around Assam's popular literatteur Saurav Kumar Chaliha and would be screened along with 40 other documentaries in the festival.
